Bonat Dorathy is the Community Engagement Officer for Community Outreach for Educational Change.
Dorathy has experience in classroom management and humanitarian services. She is an agent of change so passionate about children and is focused on impacting positively into people’s lives especially that of children. She also has a strong passion for teaching which started her career in the teaching profession. Prior to Community Outreach for Educational Change, she worked as a Class Teacher and Assistant Head Teacher in one of the private schools in New Karu, Nassarawa State. She was also the exam coordinator and was responsible for all activities regarding examinations at the school.
Dorathy joined Community Outreach for Educational Change as a volunteer Class Teacher with a team of volunteers which enabled her to also be part of COECs After School Learning-to-Read Programs for students in rural Pisabu of Kebbi State, Nigeria. In that time, She also volunteered as the Project Manager of COEC’s Fed to Learn Campaign School Program which currently feeds the school population of 136 students Breakfast and Lunch with Eggs. She assumed the role of Community Engagement Officer in January 2020.
Dorathy holds an NCE in Primary Education Studies from Kaduna State College of Education, Gidan Waya and is currently running a Diploma program in Educational Psychology.
